A simple brush stroke, coal highlights and an amazing impression invades you. Liv Ann's work is unique. A personal vision of the human and the face, which boils down to a few traits that have become iconic, not to make us think of certain artists such as Picasso or Cocteau.
Randomly chosen characters who become present, a strand of barely suggested hair or a look that speaks volumes. Let yourself be carried away by these unique and so graceful illustrations.
Liv Ann van der Laan is Dutch. After studying graphic design at the Italian School of Art and then at the Beaux-Arts in Amsterdam, she decided to start her own studio. Passionate about portraiture, she develops a range of drawings with a vintage aesthetic that will identify her at first glance.
Like Japanese prints, she lets herself go from a simple stroke of pencil or brush to silhouettes fine and full of emotions. A pleasant reverie envelops his work sometimes punctuated by innovative techniques such as coal or Indian ink.
