The designer

Fernando Brízio

Lausanne, Switzerland

Fernando Brízio (1968) is probably the most internationally recognized Portuguese designer of his generation. Always stepping between a rather ironic approach, where there is often space for deliberate accidents in his projects, Brízio's body of work was already exhibited throughout the world in a variety of shows. He gathers an incredible collection of projects commissioned by many renowned companies and brands such as Droog Design, Authentics, Details and DIM-Die Imaginare Manufaktur of Germany, Protodesign, Atlantis, M Glass, Modalisboa, Schréder, Lux/Loja Atalaia of Portugal and Cor Unum of the Netherlands.

Brízio combines his design work with a teaching career at the Arts and Design School in Caldas da Rainha, and was also a visiting Professor at the ECAL in Lausanne and at the University of Design and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany.
